THE HALL OF THE ARMS AT CHARLES THE FIFTH CASTLE
It was built in the XVth century on the most protrunding promontory of the coast in order to defence the town and its port. It consists of a series of structures dated back to the previous different historical periods such as: ruins of huts of the Bronze Age, the fortification walls of the IVth century b.C. in which Romans included a monumental door, the monastery and the church of S. Nicola in Pinna and ruins from medieval fortification system. At the ground floor, there is the Hall of the Arms where cannons are placed (in direction of the gunboats through the embrasures); on the upstairs exhibitions and conventions take place.
